Cistern finally finished - now it just has to rain.

Finally: The cistern is finished after almost a year. Up to 100 people can now be supplied with clean drinking water, provided it has rained enough and electricity is available.

Here at the last steps before completion.

This will be a blessing for families, especially in the dry season.

Finally, the cistern was thoroughly cleaned before the big rain, which hopefully will come soon and will bring the longed-for water.

When there is enough water in the cistern, a water test must be carried out by an institute at the university in Yamoussoukou.

Then, if the water is confirmed as suitable, the families can get drinking water here.

Only then will the project that should serve as a test for a larger drinking water project be completed.

But it is already clear that our local partners are not able to carry out such projects.

Since we cannot be permanently on site in order to be able to supervise such projects on an ongoing basis, no further projects are currently planned.

Many setbacks and surprises had to be processed and have shown that we have not managed to arouse initiative in our partners.

Most of those involved saw our projects that we had initiated as a source of income or as an aid project.

Our projects were seen as gifts and that was it.

Initiative and personal responsibility could not be aroused.

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to convey the concept of sustainability either.

It will still take a lot of conversations and emails to convey what our association is about.

The most positive thing, however, is that our partner has stuck with it and has persevered until now, even though he hardly received any support from his family.

After a recovery period, which is the hip for Isaac, we will talk about how to proceed.
